Diminishing conventional gas supplies and technological advances have stimulated CBM exploration and production in Canada to the point that CBM has become one of the "hottest" activities in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. At the present time, it represents four percent of Canadian production; however, as conventional production decreases and gas prices inevitably rise, CBM production is expected to grow significantly.

The Company's focus is on creating value through the exploration and exploitation of unconventional gas resources with particular emphasis on CBM. Richards Oil & Gas Limited has projects in three main CBM play types – the Horseshoe Canyon Formation, the Mannville Formation and the Scollard Formation (Ardley Coal Zone).

The Company's strategy is to develop long term production opportunities from the Horseshoe Canyon and Ardley coals in the Alberta plains. To achieve this, Richards Oil & Gas Limited is concentrating on exploring its extensive land base, establishing play fairways and exploiting early cash flow opportunities.

The Company has also positioned itself with ownership interests in gas gathering systems and facilities on its lands and will continue to expand this facet as it exploits its properties, in order to exercise direct control over sales and marketing.
